Kombucha gazpacho with five superfoods

Kombucha gazpacho with five superfoods
Kombucha-Gazpacho: a delicious starter made of 5 superfoods

Time for a little confession: I love flea seeds!
The finely ground seed shells (they come from the plantain plant Plantago ovata) do me so well and make me feel so good in my stomach that I don't want to miss a single day without them. Drunk with liquid twice a day, about half an hour before a main meal, they regulate my digestion in a wonderful way and also give me a lasting feeling of satiety.

Wo what could be more obvious than combining the pleasure of the great flea seeds with the microorganisms in the wellness drinks Kombucha and Kefir I have already introduced you to my first favorite recipe with flea seeds, the Kefir drink "Fitness for the gut" Today is my second favorite recipe. You shouldn't praise yourself, but the Kombucha gazpacho with five superfoods tastes so delicious that I have even served it to enthusiastic guests as a prelude to a menu (assuming they like garlic!). Before I introduce you to the recipe, a few explanatory words first, what exactly it is about the flea seeds.

Flea seeds naturally regulate digestion
Fleaseeds have a great regulating effect on digestion

Honestly, and just between you and me: I'm not the type of person who likes to stick to diets and make life difficult for himself with dietary restrictions. I like to enjoy a good meal and prefer to eat what I really like.
I should eat something just because it's healthy? No, I'd rather not! But the flea seeds have such an immediate effect on my digestion that I really regret it every time I leave them out or forget them for even one day.

Dhat they are so effective and have a regulating effect in "both directions" is due to their apparently contradictory properties: On the one hand, they consist of almost 90% pure, completely calorie-free dietary fibres, which swell up strongly in the stomach and intestines. This way they provide a lot of volume, saturate for a long time and get the digestion going quite reliably. On the other hand, they absorb up to 50 times (!!!) their volume of water during swelling. That is why they often help not only with constipation, but also with opposite complaints such as diarrhoea, cramps and nervous bowel.

Twice a day before the main meals - such a regular intake can only be maintained in the long run if 1) it tastes really delicious and 2) it goes quickly, because otherwise you rapidly lose the mood. In my stressful everyday life, however, I often have little time to prepare elaborate and complicated recipes (which is why I like to drink Kombucha, Kefir and water Kefir).

For the Kombucha gazpacho with five Superfoods, I therefore first invented a universal spice , which I produce in large quantities and which can be kept very well in the refrigerator. The preparation takes about 15 minutes once - afterwards I am provided for weeks with a delicious universal spice, which not only ends up in the Kombucha gazpacho, but meanwhile practically in every meal.

The universal spice made of garlic, ginger, lemon juice and salt
The universal spice made of garlic, ginger, lemon juice and salt can be kept very well in the refrigerator

The universal spice consists merely of the ingredients garlic, ginger, lemon juice and salt. So that it will keep in the fridge for a long time, I add some olive oil on top. The oil seals the spice airtight and protects it perfectly. With my "invention" I now spice most salads. It makes classic potato salad delicious and tasty, and a teaspoon of it is also good for corn salad. Raw vegetables such as sliced tomatoes and grated carrots are a real treat. I add the spice to meat, fish and prawns after frying. Soups and stews are spiced with it... Oh, actually I give it to every meal by now! I even caught myself using a few spoons of it as a base for a quick pasta sauce

And the recipe is so simple:

Universal spice

Peel 2-3 cloves of garlic and chop as finely as possible. Also peel two thumb-sized pieces of ginger and chop them as finely as possible. Mix well together with the juice of one lemon and a level teaspoon of salt, pour into a narrow small glass and carefully top up with olive oil so that the mixture is well covered by the oil.

Covered in the refrigerator the spice can be kept for many weeks.

Once I have made the universal spice, the daily Kombucha gazpacho itself is no longer a hassle at all. Within a maximum of two minutes (!) I conjure up a delicious starter or snack with it. And this brings us finally to the freestyle, the actual recipe:

The ingredients for kombucha gazpacho with 5 superfoods
Ingredients for "Kombucha gazpacho with 5 superfoods"
  • organic tomato and vegetable juice (finished product), well chilled
  • 80ml eady Kombucha drink, well chilled (more on Kombucha production)
  • 1 tablespoon cold pressed linseed oil
  • 1 teaspoon of the universal spice (see above)
  • 1 level teaspoon flea seeds
  • 2-3 squirts of Tabasc
  • According to taste: 1-2 squirts of lemon juice additionally

The preparation is very quick:
  1. Mix the cooled vegetable juice and Kombucha well with the linseed oil..
  2. Flavor to taste with universal spice, lemon juice and Tabasco. With time and a little acclimatization you can often tolerate more lemon juice!
  3. Only at the very end stir in the flea seeds and drink the gazpacho immediately. Due to their strong swelling ability, they otherwise transform the gazpacho into a gel within five minutes, which can only be eaten with a spoon. ;-)
  4. Tip: Those who like to drink smoothies can of course prepare their Kombucha gazpacho as a creamy smoothie. In the smoothie variant, the gazpacho can be rounded off with a few basil leaves or a little fresh parsley. But keep in mind also here: Add the flea seeds please only at the very end!

Linseed oil is one of the healthy superfoods in kombucha gazpacho
Linseed oil is cold-pressed from linseeds.
Not only good for your heart: Linseed oil

The five superfoods in the Kombucha gazpacho include not only the fermented Kombucha drink (more about Kombucha...), ground flea seeds, fresh ginger (more about the Asian power root ginger...) and garlic, but also cold-pressed linseed oil made from linseed.

Linseed oil has long been regarded as one of the most valuable vegetable oils of all. Healthy above all is its very high content of omega-3 fatty acids, which makes it an ideal dietary component for many cardiovascular diseases. Many medical studies show that linseed oil has a positive effect on blood lipid levels, that it can lower blood sugar levels directly after a meal and thus helps to regulate blood sugar levels naturally. Doctors also recommend linseed oil to improve kidney values and even to positively influence blood pressure.

Linseed oil should always be bought cold pressed and stored in a dark place. After opening, store in a cool and dark place and use up within a few weeks.
